What We Collect

WattVault collects a minimal amount of data to run the site and deliver deal alerts:

• Email address — when you sign up for deal alerts via our form. We store this in our email subscribers table with a unique unsubscribe token.
• Use case preference — optionally submitted with your email (e.g., home backup, camping, off-grid) to personalize the content and emails you receive.
• Basic usage analytics — page views, referral sources, and general browser information via our analytics setup (Polsia) and Google Analytics 4. This is aggregated and anonymous. Google Analytics data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Cookies — we use a small cookie to track a unique visitor ID for analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We do not collect: full names, phone numbers, physical addresses, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

How We Use Your Data

• To deliver the deal alert emails you signed up for (price drops, Prime Day, Black Friday, new model launches)
• To personalize which content and recommendations we surface for you
• To understand aggregate site traffic and improve the site
• To comply with CAN-SPAM email law (送你 unsubscribe, sender identification)

Cookies & Analytics

We use a first-party analytics system to understand how visitors use WattVault. The data collected is aggregated and anonymous — we can see which pages are popular, but not who is visiting.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer. Note that doing so will not break the site, but you may see the analytics tracking cookie re-created on each visit.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data to any third party. Your email address is never transferred, sold, or rented to advertisers or data brokers.

The only third parties that receive your data are:

• Our email delivery service (Polsia), which handles sending transactional emails on our behalf
• Our hosting provider, which stores the database containing email subscriber records

All third parties are contractually required to keep your data secure and not use it for their own purposes.

Email Preferences & Unsubscribe

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us directly at hello@wattvault.app to request removal from our list at any time.

We honor all unsubscribe requests within 24 hours, and you will never be re-added without your explicit sign-up.

Data Retention

Email addresses are retained as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your record is marked as unsubscribed but retained for a minimum of 2 years for compliance purposes. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@wattvault.app.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive a portable copy of your data

Data Security

Your email address is stored in a password-protected database on a hosted server. We use standard TLS encryption for all data in transit. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your data.
